Annapurna Heli tour
The Annapurna range is a vast massif with several peaks above 7000m. Part of the range forms a natural amphitheatre known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, ringed by such giants as Annapurna 1, Glacier Dome, Gangapurna, Fang and Machhapuchhare.
This tour offers exciting views in all directions. In front is the glorious Mt.Annapurna, macchapucchre and Hiunchuli, and below a magnificent view of more than 30 species of Rhododendrons bloomiing in different hues. A ring comprised of Nepal's 11 major peaks surrounds the high glacial basin lying north of Pokhara. A quite and calm sensation is what many people say they derive here at this place, and it is believed by the locals that it is due to the divine presence of Hindu Goddesses Annapurna and Gangapurna.
The principal peaks of the western portion of the great Annapurna Himal, including Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Fang, Annapurna, Ganagapurna, Annapurna 3 and Machhapuchhare, are arranged almost precisely in a circle about 10 miles in diameter with a deep glacier-covered amphitheater at the center. From this glacier basin, the Annapurna Sanctuary, the Modi Khola knifes its way south in a narrow gorge measured 12,000 ft. deep. Further south, the gorge opens up into a wide and fertile valley, the domain of the Gurungs.
