Tanting Gurung village is the perfect destination for the tourists willing to experience authentic village life in short period of time. It explores the serene area of Himalaya where you discover how the Gurungs, one of Nepal’s major ethnic groups, has perched there peacefully under the canopy of Annapurna and Lamjung mountain ranges.
We stay with Gurung community home stay, here. They offer locally produced organic food. It is going to be indeed a rare experience cooking in open fire and sit around to get served with that delicious Nepalese food. "Dhindo" (fluffy thick porridge/mush made of corn/millet/buckwheat flour) and "Gundruk" (fermented spinich cooked with spices) is the local cuisine.
Walk along cobbled stone paved staircases that connects the small neighbourhood. The cattles and chicken are personality of each house. Greet the docile people who will leave an eternal impression with their hearty hospitality.
We complete this trek through Yangjakot, Tangting and Sikles and Tara top village route witnessing rich tradition and culture fostered on the lap of Himalayas.
